Hello there! Hope you slept well I have an idea that you may or may not feel inclined to work with… I figure sometimes you just gotta speak up when the spirit moves ya…

WHAT IF your donation button leads your blog readers/fans/hopefuls/explorers to 2 options:

Option 1 — to join in on the “fun/ sharing the abundance magic” type gifts you plan on making to whomever shows up on your or the collective’s special person radar…

or Option 2 — to donate to any of a number of charities via links provided by your readers, which you or another abundance elf, or even an elf’s employer (?) may choose to match or perhaps sweeten (ooooh, some of you are loving this… I can feeel it)

Thank you El, Elisabeth, Pat, and Anonymous:

I sat on it all day, and read your thoughtful comments, and Elisabeth, your comment about being able to change my mind at any point was SO helpful. As soon as I read it, I thought, “well, of course!” and then I good laugh at myself for over-thinking the whole thing.

So, what I am going to do, is put a little donate button up for a trial run. I definitely don’t want it anywhere on the home page, or anywhere prominent, so I’m going to hide it at the bottom of the comment page, with lots of verbiage about not expecting anything from anyone, etc. etc.. And then, if I wake up tomorrow (or the next day or the next) and decide that I hate the thing, I can just take it right off again.

So there: with a little help from my readers, problem solved. I’m going to go have a good night’s sleep now.

I’m not keen on the donation button. How about a ‘Don’t ask, don’t refuse’ policy. Don’t ask for donations, don’t refuse donations.

Though I voted yes, it’s a “follow your gut” yes. This is your project and an exciting one at that! I don’t think there is a *wrong* choice here. Whatever keeps your energy highest is what’s right for right now. Things can always evolve in the future and you are free to change the rules at any given time. I for one am just riding high on the concept and will continue to do so no matter what the decision is!

im not sure of how to vote yet, i would just simply say: follow your gut!!!! it seems that “your gut” has worked wonders for you already
