I just had a HUGE amount of fun this morning making a “Mind Movie for Money.” Have you heard of Mind Movies? The idea is, you decide what you want in your life, and then you create a slide show that helps you feel like it’s already happened. You watch it every day, and then sit back as magical, miraculous things start to happen. Here’s the one I just did:
Now, I am going to admit right up-front that when I first heard about Mind Movies, I thought it was just about the silliest thing I’d ever heard. I mean really, you’re telling me that watching some dumb movie filled with cheesy inspirational pictures and messages is going to magically benefit my life? Please!
But one day I figured what-the-heck, and I tried one anyway. The proof is in the pudding: It worked! Every time I’ve committed to one since, amazing things have happened in my life. It’s one of my secrets to how I got to be so lucky.
So, go ahead and try it. Why not? What do you have to lose?
Oh, and you don’t need to go to the trouble of making your own, either. Just search YouTube and you’ll find dozens to choose from. Or, if you like, go ahead and borrow mine. Watch it once per day or so, for several weeks. I’d like to think it’s particularly lucky. I know it gave me chills when I watched it, which is a sure sign that there is real magic in it.
GOOD LUCK!
p.s. If you do this, be sure to write and tell me about your success!
p.p.s. As you can see from mine, you do not have to be super artistic or technological to do this yourself. I got all of my images free off the Getty Images website, and then used the free video-making software on my computer to hack it all together in a matter of hours. Sure, it’s not perfect. It’s certainly not professional quality. But that’s OK: It still works!
p.p.p.s Don’t worry — I am going to get back to giving more money. I’ve got someone pegged for this week, and I’m going to tell you about her very soon!

I love your movie, it was so much fun. I wanted to thank you for sharing it because I learned from it. WHen I saw all the images of money, I realized…it’s not necessarily more money that I want, but a ‘feeling’ that I’m looking to have that I think money will provide. That got my mind thinking about the feelings that I think I’ll feel more, when I have more money. Cool!
Then I went further and realized that right now, in this moment, I feel so blessed and have sooooo much. It’s not necessarily reflected in my bank account…but I feel so rich with life experiences, with my family, with some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for, I have the love of a good man, I am surrounded with nice things and people, opportunities and experiences….Gosh….I just so deeply appreciate so much about my life situation right now. Thank you so much for your site and inspiration because it’s really opened me up and helped me see things more abundantly and for that I am so deeply grateful.
Then, after I went through all that sifting…I read the next post and see that you came to a similar conclusion when you were dreaming about the bigger home, moving, etc. What a gift you are to me right now and to the world.
Thank you for your inspiration.

neat! I think dh and I are going to do one together so I can learn (I’m technologically impaired) and then I can be a mine movie makin’ maniac!
And I second everything LJ said. Especially about the inspiration. Thank you!

LJ, I just love your point that, “it’s not about the money.” Because really, of course it isn’t!
What you’re helping me to see is that the core message of my site might seem strangely self-contradictory. On the one hand I am waving my arms shouting, “Yay money! Money is GOOD! Let it in and enjoy it to the fullest!” And on the other hand, just as loud and clear, I am saying, “Forget about the money! You don’t need any more money to celebrate the richness of your life!”
So: Is it about the money, or not? It’s both!
Actually, it reminds me of when I met and fell in love with my amazing husband. It happened right after I had finally and fully understood that I didn’t need a man to be utterly, madly, crazy in love. So, I fell in love, and THEN I met my husband. It wasn’t really about the man at all.
Everyone deserves love, just as everyone deserves riches. And just like you don’t need another person for love, you don’t need money for riches. It’s just that often, you let the feeling in, and the physical aspect of it materializes so fast and furious, it can look like the same thing.
Ahhhh, I just love this topic. I think I’ll write a whole post on it soon. Thank you LJ!

Oh, and Eisabeth, if you and your husband do decide to make a mind movie and want to share it here, just let me know and I would be more than happy to post it here for you. They really are fun to do.
Enjoy!

I agree, it IS about both. The more I realize that I have this full, abundant beautiful life…the more full, abundant and beautiful my life becomes.
How I love this feeling and playfulness.

This is a magical idea! I know when that I’m very susceptible to words and images, so I try and choose them carefully. Well, why not choose them to gear my mind towards accepting and having abundance? Or being joyful? Or Knowing? Or or or or and and and and…….lol you get the ‘picture’. Thanks for sharing this!
BTW, was that a Glee mash up you used for the music?

Yes, totally a Glee mash up! Love that you caught that. It’s my favorite new show of the season.

I’m so glad you like it! I’ve actually been itching to make another one on the topic of “deserving,” but I’ve been so busy with holiday tasks it hasn’t quite materialized yet. I’ve also been thinking of doing one along the lines of what LJ was saying, where the focus is on all of the feelings created by abundance (freedom, security, respect, etc.) instead of just on the money. I guess what I’m really hoping to do a whole series of these, maybe one every couple of months, just because they’re so fun!
