First, I have to tell you, I’m still flying high from the absolutely amazing experience I had with my third recipient, who is without a doubt the single most gracious human being I have ever encountered. (Shell: You warmed my heart to no end. I would tell you that you made my day, but the truth is, you made my whole week.)
And now, on top of all of that utter loveliness, I have a whole new reason to be excited: Today is the day I unveil the Elf Giving Program! WOO-HOO!!!! I’m telling you, I’m just about jumping off the walls, because from now on, Tuesday will be known as “Elf Tuesday” and will be given over to stories of Elf giving and a weekly $50 Elf giveaway!
It’s all very simple, and explained in detail on the Be an Elf page. The short of it is: Sign up, receive Abundance By Magic calling cards, and be automatically entered to win $50 of giving money each week. Simple as that! Hooray, hooray!
My hope is that, through this program, my readers will have an opportunity to experience the unutterable magic of giving. Because I have got to tell you: As good as it feels to receive, it feels about a thousand times better to give.
Even more than that, I am SO incredibly excited about the possibilities of spreading Abundance Magic far beyond what I could ever do alone.
I mean, think about it… can you imagine if word starts to get out, and more and more people sign up? Can you imagine if we have Elves springing up all over the world? Imagine if we had so many elves, that someone in the world was receiving a lovely surprise, every single day? Imagine all the people, sharing all the world? (OK, so that last bit is John Lennon. Now I’m going to have that song in my head all day. 
)
You can see how excited I am. I hope you are feeling excited too. And please, if you’re not the shy type, spread the word! More Elves = More Magic. I don’t think there’s any such thing as too many Elves. We could start a whole movement, here!

Oh my GUS!!! This is awesome! This is BRILLIANT!!! So how does it work? If we are chosen, we get to go out and gift the $50 to someone along with the card? Delicious!!! Because you know what? This will allow all of us to tap into our own abundance and joy while paying it forward, even if we can’t personally front the money…not that you NEED that, but this is a whole other level! It’s just awesome! This also allows the people who benefit from your project to increase exponentially. I’m in love and ready!

Elisabeth, that’s it EXACTLY. And yup, if you are chosen, you can gift the money to whomever you like, however you like.
I’m partly SO excited about this because I know how many super-creative people are reading this right now, who are going to think of things that wouldn’t even occur to me. I just can’t wait to start hearing the fun stories! (I just had a reader tell me that one year for Christmas, she hung a candy cane on the door of every single person in her condo, with an anonymous card. How awesome is that? I never would have thought of it, but I absolute LOVE it.)

it’s just so exciting! And the thought of receiving creative license is just too perfect. How many lives can we change in one day? It’s an exciting question to ponder! This kind of thing is going to make many, many smiles…and who knows how far reaching the benefits could be? How many people are going to be affected by each little act? I think I’m shaking I’m so excited at the idea!

Guess what? SEVEN ELVES!!! After only 24 hours, already SEVEN ELVES!!!!! From all over the world, can you believe it?
I’m dancing. I cannot wait to mail out the cards. I hope to get them all in the mail today, just have to make sure I’ve got envelopes stashed around here somewhere.

I am SO excited about being an Elf. I can’t wait to receive the cards!!! I have all kinds of ideas brewing. I will do as much as I can even without the drawing. So thank you SO much for the inspiration!! Here’s what I’m thinking:
I love the idea of finding an actual person (and I have at least one in mind) but I’m also really drawn to the random acts. So I’m thinking about putting together an envelope with your card, a short card with more info and a $5 or $10 bill. Then I want to give them to people like librarians or cashiers at the coffee shop, etc. and ask them to hand them out to the next or a random customer. I might also just leave some decorated envelopes laying around and see what happens
I think my girls and I will have fun with this. It will be neat to see if they come to the site but perfectly fine if they don’t.
I know more ideas will come but it’s been so fun already thinking about how can we give money to strangers – LOL! It’s harder than you think it would be! But well worth the effort!

Most of the cards are out, now. Anna, I’ve got yours addressed and ready to go, and if I don’t get them to the mailbox today, they’ll be in Mondays’ mail for sure.
Would you believe we’re up to TEN elves?!?!?! Can you hear me shouting for joy? I am going to make a page soon that lists out all the Elves. I’m just loving all the names!

That sounds great. Pat got her’s today, so I’ll run up and ‘borrow’ some of hers if I can’t wait another day
We went to see the yard of a couple in our town today. They have converted the whole thing to food and sustainable living. The man builds everything (amazing structures!!) from things he finds on the streets or things being trashed by builders, etc. I was so inspired!
They don’t have much money at all but are clearly living an AMAZING life but I’m going to find a way to give them something. Not sure how or what yet, but I know it will happen.
It’s just like you said, just be open and the most amazing people and opportunities pop up right in front of you!!

At one point, I’m going to start opening up for recipient nominations (maybe once a month or so) for $100 giveaways. I would love if you would nominate them!
