Before I announce the winner of the first weekly $50 Elf Giveaway, I’d like to say a big WELCOME!!!!! to all mothering.com readers, and also a huge “THANK YOU!” to Elisabeth for posting a thread on Mothering to spread the word. And now, I am SO excited, because this is my very first ELF TUESDAY!!!! Woo-hoo!!!!! And you know what that means… it means that one of you has already won the $50 giveaway! Here’s how I picked:
First, I wrote the names of all ten Elves on little slips of paper:
I put them into my abundance box (figured I’d send you each some money luck while we’re at it
) and shook it up:
And pulled out the name of the winner…
And the winner is… LILY!!! Congratulations!!! (Not sure why my hand looks all stretched out in the photo. I assure you that in real life, I do not have creepy seven inch long alien fingers.)
Lily, I will be contacting you by e-mail to see how you’d like to receive the money. And then, all you have to do is let us know who you gave it to, and how, so we can share in the excitement!

i just spread a little magic today as an elf and had so much fun, not sure if my person/s got it yet and how they will react but thanks ABM, this is fun, my daughter helped too!!!

El, that’s so fun!!! I’m so excited — the very first Elf gift! How completely wonderful!!
I’m hoping to put a place on the site today for “Elf Chat” so there’s a place for Elves to talk and share giving stories and ideas, etc. With luck it will be up sometime this afternoon.
Also: I’ve been in touch with Lily, the $50 winner, but would you believe we’re having trouble figuring out how to get the money to her? She’s international, and without PayPal, so it’s a bit of an issue. But I’m confident we’ll figure something out. Stay tuned and I’ll keep you filled in!
