Because the Elf Chat is growing daily, I thought it would be helpful to have a post where we could share ideas for Elfing.
As you all share your ideas in the comments, I’ll edit this post to add them in. 
I’m separating these into categories; if you think of a category I don’t have here, please suggest it!
IDEAS FOR ELFING
Ready Gifts: For When Somebody Inspires You To Give To Them
- Have cash in a closed envelope.
- Have a small gift, possibly handmade (such as earrings), ready in a closed envelope.
- Have gift cards ready in a closed envelope (some ideas for gift cards are below).
- Pay for somebody’s meal/purchase.
- Love notes! Please see Serena’s comment (#2) below for more on her idea about this.
Dollar Heart
On The Fly: For When You’re In The Elfing Mood But Unprepared
- Pay for gas for the person/people who pulls up at the pump you leave.
- Pay the fee for the person/people after you at a parking garage.
- Pay the library fine for the person/people who come after you.
- Go to a laundromat and give somebody a handful (or even better, a roll) of quarters.

gift cards for ice cream!
“Love Notes”: I plan to write things on little notes like “You are wonderful!” or “Just want to let you know that you are beautiful, awesome, and loved!” “Thanks for being you” or “The universe is showering you with infinite blessings of magic in every moment!”
***sometimes there may be a dollar (or more), a gift card or something else to accompany the note if I feel so compelled
