Scheming is a great word E. I am definitely feeling a bit mischievious about who and what to give. What fun this is!

Oh, forgot to introduce myself. LOL

My (Elf) name is Serena ;-) and am very excited to be a part of the giving, and trying very hard not to give away my identity…lol…something tells me I won’t last very long in secrecy. Look at me now already talking about not giving away my identity! LOL

I have also started a decluttering process I need to get organized and I have asked GUS for some funds for the shelving etc I need. My hubby got a lovely raise and we will use that money for my new projects!!!

Whoot! I am also making my very first vision board ever. Such fun!

I have to go to the bagel shop to get my mom breakfast and there’s this lovely woman there who is SO nice and clearly doesn’t have much in terms of finances. Family either, I don’t think after talking to her a few times but she always goes out of her way to smile at me and say hi. Anyway, when I was there last week she had to downsize her order due to lack of finances. I’m hoping she’s there today so I can pass off an envelope! I put $5 in it with a card. Yippee!!!!

I also put a few dollars with a card in several others to keep in my bag so I can pass them when the spirit moves.

    I’m so excited!!!

Love Joy here. We’re homebound at the moment with the flu…so my opportunities to ‘elf’ have been limited. Perhaps I’ll do a little ‘dreaming of scheming’ today while we all rest…so when we’re feeling better, I can start spreading the abundance.

Done!!! That was SO much fun! I didn’t wait around for her to open it or anything. I just gave her the envelope and told her to have a magically abundant day. She was still watching me out the window when I got into my car. That felt SO good!

OMG, this is so so so so so SO fun! Serafina, I am so excited for you that you gave a gift! WOO-HOOOOOOOOO! I’m especially laughing because I just adore bagels. Taking myself to the bagel shop is one of my favorite treats, and I *always* see people I want to gift in there.

And everyone else, too, I’m over the moon to see you all here! Looking out my window right now, I can count over six varieties of bird (doves, bluebirds, a woodpecker, nuthatch, sparrows, starlings (I think?), and one smallish hawk who swooped through and sent the rest into a tizzy!). There are also at least half a dozen squirrels chasing each other furiously through the trees. It feels like all of nature is throwing a party for us!

Did anyone hear about the woman who went somewhere with her daughter, and came back home to find their house had been broken into, but nothing was taken. Instead, someone had decorated the whole place for Christmas??? LOL I of course thought, Hmm…wonder if it was an elf… LOL Police were not sure what to make of it… unlawful decorating?

I’d do it, only if I knew the person was into Christmas, and if I knew they wouldn’t mind my breaking in…lol…otherwise, I think thats a little too far in the breech of privacy… LOL

So which one of you is responsible?

    here’s the article:

What fun! I wish the article had included more of their reaction. Were they happily surprised and delighted, or just plain weirded out? I’ll bet that even if the mom was unsure, that the daughter totally loved it. Kids are so much more open!

It’s funny, b/c I keep going back and forth on whether it’s OK to link to my recipient’s blogs without permission. First I think I shouldn’t, then I think of course I should! But, yeah, that’s just a link to a public blog. Breaking into someone’s house is definitely across the line, I’d say! (Though fun to read about!) :D

Only good things can come from having that perspective, because as we all know you find what you look for. Looking for the beauty and magic in everyone around you will amplify that in your own life in every way, and it’s also a gift to those in whom you see it.

I was standing in the line at the take out and the lady in front of me looked at me and we smiled at each other. My oh my when that girl smiled everything just lit up!

So as fate would have it we received what we were waiting for at the same time and just as she wanted to take her parcel I said: “before you grab that, quickly grab this” and I put a card and the earrings in her hand. And swiftly made my exit *giggles*

I hope she likes her gift ♥

So did all the American Elves have a wonderful Thanksgiving, I hope? Mine was totally wonderful. The only glitch was when my son made me a Thanksgiving card: He drew himself and my husband and his sister all outside playing and having fun, with a drawing of our house in the background. “Hey,” I said, “where am I?”

“Oh,” he said, pointing to a little figure in the window of the house. “That’s you, inside, on your computer.”

    D’OH!

Needless to say, I spent as little time as possible on the computer for the rest of the holiday. We played a lot of boardgames, and listened to Christmas music, and decorated the house. It felt awesome.

So my new goal is to add new posts only two or maybe three a week, instead of the four times per week I’ve been aiming for till now. I guess I hadn’t realized how much of my time I’d been spending working on getting the site going, until my seven year old literally drew a picture for me.

Luckily, though, things on the site are at a point where it won’t take a lot to keep it going, and I can go back to giving my poor, neglected children more of my time! lol :D

Hope you’re all well. And Elviolith, I’m so sorry you haven’t received any thank yous for your wonderful gifts. Hopefully you still feel good about having given, though? And still feel like it was worth it for the fun of it all? I hope so! Big hugs and lots of luck and magic to you all!

Oh Oh and I received my cards. Thank you so much especially for the handwritten note with it *hug*

And it’s ok I don’t do this to be thanked, I do it for the joy of giving and making someone else’s day :) who knows maybe my recipients don’t have internet access. It doesn’t matter in the end. I am still thrilled with the experience ♥ I can’t wait to find my next recipient.

What a warm and friendly group! I am so excited to be one of you now. :)

I found this site a few weeks ago and kept it open in my browser for updates, wanting to use the resources. What’s funny is that I didn’t even consider becoming an elf myself until after reading the Elf Chat… I wanted to have some of that joy for myself. :D

I sent in my application the day after Thanksgiving; while I realized that ABM was probably not going to do anything until after the weekend, in my excitement, I checked here every few hours to see if I’d been accepted.

I am SO honored to be part of this wonderful mission! And I’m a little giddy that I get to do it with a secret name, which I enjoyed creating… it all adds to the fun and “elfishness” of it. There you go, ABM, a new bumper sticker for you… “Be Elfish” (I’m sure you and the others can come up with something more clever ;) ).

Well, I’m writing a book, so I’d better close. Thank you all for the warm welcome, and I look forward to sharing ideas with and being inspired by you all.

Ok…so I just had my first feeling of “OH! I must find a way to elf this person” and then I hit a block.

I’m wondering what some of you elves are doing to spread magic? Is it sometimes a card with a few dollars in it? An ice cream gift card? Paying for someone’s lunch? A small trinket or two?

I’m just not sure HOW I want to help this person…but I know he deserves it. =)

I meant to reply to this ages ago to say that I ADORE the idea of giving letters and love notes!! Those are worth so much more than money it’s just not even comparable. A note of appreciation is the kind of thing that someone is likely to keep and remember the entire rest of their lives, and it can even be the kind of thing that can change a life.

And I owe you a big thank you, because you just inspired this weeks recipient! (You’ll have to wait till tomorrow to find out who, but she fits just perfectly with this conversation…)

The few things I’ve done I’ve waited until I saw something that I knew would be appreciated. The last thing I did was something I knew would help a certain person but she couldn’t splurge on herself. I have also done cash in an envelope when that seemed to be appropriate!

I’d love an ice cream gift card! That’s a GREAT idea! A starbucks one would be another fun one to give! Do you know of something he really enjoys? It’s nice when you can relate that to the elfing.

    [Reply]

    Abundance By Magic Reply:

I love waiting until the moment is right, too, serafina & serena. Inspiration always comes, and then it all happens at just the right moment. (One challenging thing with this site is sticking with my goal of giving one gift per week, and only one gift. Before I started the site, I would give in bursts, doing many at once, and then I might go a while doing nothing. It’s been a fun challenge to be more regular about it, but I don’t want any Elf to feel obligated to give, or to give when it doesn’t yet feel right. All Elf giving should all and only for FUN and YUM! :D

Oh, and yes: gifting the people who won’t splurge on themselves are often my favorite targets! They can also be challenging, though, because people who won’t treat themselves are very often the people who find it hard to receive in general, so there is the risk that giving to them will actually make them feel uncomfortable rather than loved and appreciated. But I think that’s a risk worth taking, every time!

Something I am thinking of doing, since I don’t get out into the community often or see the same people again and again (besides friends, who will be Elfed as well) is to pay ahead for the next person, for gas or for coffee, etc. This would be nice to do at the P.O. or grocery store as well.

The person being Elfed will get a nice little surprise, and maybe even pass it on. :D

I’m love being an abundance elf! Not only am I helping others by doing this, I’m also helping myself grow and expand. I have had to confront a lot of personal beliefs and boundaries. I’ve been examining and in many instances reforming my beliefs on deserving, giving, abundance, judging,ect….lol. I seemed to have opened up a whole can of worms and I’m excited about this opportunity to grow!

    [Reply]

    Abundance By Magic Reply:

Oh yes, I hear you on the growth. I’m SO glad you’re seeing it as a positive. Yay! After all, what we are all doing here is fairly radical and, while SO fun, it can be quite frightening too. We all take risks each and every single time we give. It can open up all kinds of stuff, both for the giver and the recipient.

Now, with that in mind, I do hope that any Elf who wants to lay off the giving feels utterly free to do so. I think you all already know this, but just in case: There is absolutely ZERO obligation to give, ever. Ever!

Any Elf on this site should feel free to just soak up the yummy vibes here, knowing that you’ll gift someone when and IF it ever feels right. And if you ever win the $50 you may always simply pass it on to another Elf! Easy peasy, guilt-free, and fun as can be!

I DID IT!!! Oh my, it was fun and scary too :) I went out to run errands with two envelopes they each held a ABM card, a note I’d written with more explanation and $10. One note was for more random and one was for someone that touched me.

I was at my last stop, Trader Joe’s, when I saw an employee. She LIT UP THE STORE with her smile. She was talking to an upset baby and her energy was calming the baby and the mom. She just glowed and was brightening everyone in her line.

I was in another line, so I check out and then walked up to her and said “Hi, this is for you.” She looked confused and said “for me?”. “Yes, have a great day!” and I BOLTED out of there – LOL! It was so funny! I have no idea what her reaction will be but she is so filled with joy, I can only imagine that it will just be another bright spot for her.

    So. Much. Fun.!!!!!

We are heading out but I want to share. Thanks for this, my vibration is so high!

Which reminds me that I loved that I was looking, and finding so many sweet moments when I was out. Noticing joy when I might have buzzed past. I love that!

I elfed my 3rd recipient today. I went out for lunch and before I went out I was nudgedto get everything ready – I put a pair of cute purple dangly earrings in a little pink organza bag and wrote a note that said “You are loved and appreciated” on the back of my AbM card and attached it to the gift bag.

I went about my shopping and I saw this lady in the shop. My heart just went out to her for some reason. Things didn’t work out in that shop so I shot up a little prayer and asked that if she is the one I am supposed to be gifting that our paths would cross again before I have to go.

I went in to another shop and lo and behold who walks in? The lady in brown! I went over to her and said “Excuse me I have this for you – have an awesome day further”. She took the little bag and read the card. And I scooted out of there.

I hope she feels a little lighter and knows that she is indeed Loved and Appreciated ♥

    AbM,
I haven’t received my cards yet; can you let me know when they were mailed? I’m guessing that holiday snail mail is slowing things way down, but thought I’d check just in case it got lost in the holiday elf-dance, er – shuffle. :-)

    [Reply]

    Abundance By Magic Reply:

Well now that’s odd, I mailed those ages ago! :( I wonder what the hold up is? I hope I put the right postage on and everything. Hmmmm. Let me know if you don’t get them soon, and I may just go ahead and resend some just in case.

In the meantime, Elviolith made an electronic copy of an ABM business card, that way she can print them out and do it that way. Would you like me to send you something like that, as an e-mail attachment?

Alternately, you can always feel totally free to do your own card, and just add the website URL on the card somewhere. Totally up to you! And in any case, I hope your cards come soon!

OK, you should all have your logon information now!

Hopefully it’s really easy to figure out, but please don’t hesitate to ask questions. When you click the link, you’ll see a place to add your first and last name and a profile description. I don’t actually think any of that gets used on the site, though, so don’t waste your time working on a nice profile.

What you CAN do is create a signature for yourself that will appear automatically at the bottom of your posts. If you click where it says “signature” on the left, you’ll see where to add one. Feel free to add whatever you like to your signature. You can add links to your websites, include your real names if you like, or put nothing at all.

When you’re ready to create a post, click on the “posts” link on the left, and “add new”. You should then see a window to type a title and your text. Click “submit” when you’re done, and it will go into the queue for moderation.

You may want to send me an e-mail when you submit an article — it looks like I don’t get notified when something is submitted, for some reason. I’ll be checking in once per day or so for new posts, but it’s fun to see them right away. If it’s been longer then a day since you submitted a post, and it hasn’t gone live and you haven’t heard from me, e-mail me for sure.

I am so excited for this! Be sure to ask me any questions. And feel free to begin posting, any time!

WOO-HOO!!!!! This site is going to the ELVES!!!!! :D

    p.s. a couple more things:

Your “nickname” is what appears on your byline, not your username.

You’ll see other links on the left, like “tools” and “contact” and other random stuff — not totally sure what all that is, so it’s probably best left alone. :D There is a function for polls, feel free to play with that if you’d like.

I was in a store today and a little girl was in there counting her cash and finding the perfect thing for people on her list. She was ADORABLE. I kept being drawn to her instead of *my* list! She found this santa hat and came up to ask the owner how much it cost. The owner said “$1″ for you. She ran to tell her mom. Her mom said “No, you have one like it.” – “but mine doesn’t fit” – “I said NO, put it down.”

Well, I didn’t want to cause more trouble but I gave the owner a $1.10 and said “could you see if she will let you give the little girl the hat”. Then my mom and I scooted out. She did and the girl peeked out the door with the hat on and yelled “THANK YOU!!!” as we pulled out.

I’m so glad she get to wear that hat! Even if she has another at home :)

    About your gifts:

Some of you already know about the wonderful, gifted homeopath named Elisabeth, and some of you have even already tried her wonderful blends, and can attest to how well they work. For those who don’t, though, let me just explain briefly what your gift is and why I chose it.

Actually, let me clarify: I’ll explain why I chose it, and I’ll let Elisabeth post separately to explain what it is. She will do a much better job explaining than I ever could. :D

I chose it because I want all of my Elves to experience wonderful, amazing ABUNDANCE, and while I don’t know quite how homeopathy works (it’s magic!:D), I do know that this blend worked wonders for me and my husband. Less than one week after we began to take it, my husband got a huge promotion at work. True story! (We’ll be celebrating this one for a long time!)

It’s my opinion that when it comes to homeopathy, Elisabeth is the BEST. She has a real gift, and I feel so lucky to have her as a healer and amazing resource in my life. So, naturally, what better gift could I possibly think up, than Magical Abundance in a bottle, courtesy of the wonderful Elisabeth? Take as directed, and let the magic begin!

Happy Holidays, wonderful Elves. And HUGE, GIANT thanks to Elisabeth for all of your time and work!

    Woo-hoo Elisabeth!!! Woo-hoo Elves!! WOO-HOO ABUNDANCE!!!!

    [Reply]

    Fisyr Reply:

While I am familiar with Elisabeth and homeopathics (though not together), I didn’t realize that homeopathics could work on… life? outside conditions? – I thought it was a physical thing.

I am SUPER excited to get this and for both my husband and myself to start taking it. :D

    [Reply]

    elisabeth Reply:

Ahhh yes they can! They can help with how you perceive and react to things. The abundance blend has a combination of remedies that release old patterns of lack (material and self worth which are kind of the same) and help to focus on joy so that you can be open to receive! It is a wonderful catalyst!

    [Reply]

    Fisyr Reply:

This all at once scares and excites me. I’m ready to release old patterns, but am nervous doing so. Still, I’ve been stuck in this pattern for so long and I’m ready to let go, and I know that this gift is coming my way because I’m ready.

Thank you SO much Elisabeth and AbM! I’ll be checking mail every day now instead of letting my husband do it. ;)

    Willow Reply:

WOW! Thank you so much. I’m so excited because I’ve really been setting the intention for abundance so that I can share more and more. I can’t wait to spread the joy and wealth. This is so in-line with my thoughts on this. I feel like it’s the sign saying – yes, you are on this path to have more and more to share.

Thank you!!!!! It will be so fun to see what happens with everyone. Giving has always been a big part of me but this site has made it even more fun to share and be inspired. Your decision to start this site has touch so many people all over the world. Talk about the ‘power of one’!

Hello elves! I hope that you all enjoy this little bottle of magic. IT is a blend of several remedies derived from flowers that work to help create a feeling of abundance in life. It contains remedies that work directly on the emotions that surround a sense of lack or poverty and simultaneously allow us to perceive the abundance we already have and open our hearts to our own worth.

What I have seen is that when the patterns shift emotionally, physical manifestations follow, and fast! What you can expect upon taking it is a general change in how you see, react to and think about things with respect to abundance. From there, as you focus on the gifts and magic more will flow into your life.

As an energetic modality there are a few tips:
*I encourage people to take this, as specified directly from the bottle. Many remedies can be put in water glasses, but this works a bit differently so from the bottle yields the best results.
*You don’t have to worry about contraindications or interactions with medications, it is energetic.
*It doesn’t need refrigeration, it is preserved with brandy.
*IF you for any reason do not wish to consume alcohol you can boil the contents to burn it off, or use it topically.
*It is best taken with intention! I love encouraging people to use visualization or affirmations when taking their abundance essence.

That’s about it! Please enjoy and a big thank you to ABM for presenting everyone with such powerful manifesting tools!

    [Reply]

    Serafina Reply:

you can use anything….really just focus on what you want! You can use a formal affirmation if you like, or just hold what you want the abundance to look like in your head. I love using affirmations like “I now allow the prosperity and abundance that is mine by divine right to manifest in a perfect way under grace.” I feel like that covers all my bases.

However, you can simply take it and *see* the new car you need, the piece of clothing that you want or a job opportunity appear! The feelings matter too, so if you can create the story in your head of what it would be like to have/do those things all the better!

You can get in touch with me through ABM! Just contact ABM and she will give you my info! And now my cover is blown because I can’t log out of my elf name…lol.

I just got to magic someone!!! I’m so excited! I had to bring my kiddos to the chiropractor and this is the first time we have gone after school. I knew they’d be antsy and promised them that when they were done being awesome I’d take them to this amazing allergen free bakery and we could split a brownie. Anyway I was in there and a mama walked in who had clearly been newly diagnosed and was a bit overwhelmed. Anyway her daughter was with her and they ended up walking out CLEARLY because of sticker shock. The little girl was upset because, well she *probably* had just had her world turned upside down because of allergies and now she’s walking out of a bakery with nothing. So I grabbed two christmas cookies, promised I’d be right back and ran them out to them as they got in their car. It was SO precious! I got the little girl a snowflake shaped cookie with purple royal icing and piped snowflakes on it! Mom got an angel, as she totally deserved it.

Thanks to the bakery for not chasing me when I ran out! And to you two if you are out there….it gets easier, I swear! And I hope the cookies tasted half as good as they looked!

Just a quick note to update everyone on a change on the site:

Earlier today I switched the home page to a new, static “Welcome” page instead of having the homepage set to the blog posts. I did it partly because new people were telling me that the site felt confusing to them, and partly so that Elves might feel more encouraged to post (your posts won’t be so totally front and center anymore, so it’s not as intimidating). Also, this way I can finally put a more prominent link on the homepage to our Sister Site (myeverydaymagic.com) which I’ve been wanting to do for ages. Yay!

Let me know if you think it works — if it starts to feel too stagnant, I can always switch it back when I return from my vacation. And, as always, if any of you have any other suggestions for making the site better, I *always* want to hear them!

Hope you’re all having lovely Fridays!

    AbM,
I had an idea to make the front page work better. Instead of having a static front page, you can have a sticky post. That post (you could put the info you have on the front page into a post) would always remain at the top, and then other blog posts would show up immediately underneath it. That way people wouldn’t have to search for the posts – they’d be right there. :D

    [Reply]

    Abundance By Magic Reply:

Fisyr, that is a fantastic idea. I’m going to look into that right away. Thank you!

    [Reply]

    Abundance By Magic Reply:

Just an update on the sticky post idea: I still LOVE this idea and really wish I could make it work. But I’ve been fiddling with it for hours now, and ARGH every time I try to switch over to displaying the posts on the front page instead of the static welcome page, the left-hand side bar drops to the very bottom (below twenty posts) looking awful and messing with easy navigation. It didn’t used to do that when I had the posts on the front page before, so I have no idea why it’s doing it now. I know it must just be some kind of pesky bug, but UGH I just can’t figure it out!

For sanity’s sake I’m giving up for now — if any of you blog savvy Elves have any ideas for how to fix this, I’m all ears!

Hi all – I have been very quiet over the festive season but am back in the swing of things ♥ I gifted someone today. I bought a bucket of Crysanthiums when I was doing my shopping and asked for GUS to let me know who to give it to.

While the cashier was busy ringing my stuff up I saw my “giftee” lol I wasn’t in a position right then to give her, her gift. When I walked out she was right outside the store I assume waiting for someone (me! hows that for divine intervention!)

I walked over put on my best smile and said “Hi! This is for you” and handed her the flowers and the Elf card. Shame she looked totally befuddled and asked me “who are you?” I just smiled and said “don’t worry have a super day!” and walked off. I hope she loves her flowers and that it brightened her day!

I would like to share this quote with you guys today:

I’m very intrigued by this idea of adding a forum to the site to replace Elf chat. It actually looks like it’s fairly easy to do. But then I also read that there are some downsides to consider before doing it (for example, it seems like when there is a message board on a site, it’s a common side effect that people stop reading and commenting on posts.)

Thank you so much for the idea — I am really going to have to think about this. All comments and thoughts are welcome, as always!

Hello again and thanks so much for the warm welcome!

Serafina – Did you receive my email about the Abundance blend? I used the email you mentioned here, but just want to make sure!

And a question: Is the point to be *completely* anonymous? I just received an email from a mama in the unschooling network in my town saying that her kids are going stir crazy with the cold weather and they can’t afford to go to indoor amusement-type places.

I’d love to give them a day pass to one of those areas, but how to do it? Any suggestions are appreciated!

I didn’t! I’m having email issues though (mercury retrograde and what-not.) Maybe contact ABM and I’ll re-route you!

Oh, you don’t need to remain anonymous at all, if you’d rather not. It’s TOTALLY up to you. The whole “Elf” thing just gives you the option to remain anonymous, if that’s what you prefer.

For the passes, would it be possible to send them through the mail? Or just put them in an envelope and drop them in the mailbox? (Do you know her address?) I think it’s a totally fantastic idea, btw. Just perfect!

Hello everyone and a huge thank you to Serena for your post today.

I have been in a funk since November and struggled with who I was and how to feel more grounded again. I received money in the weekly draw and have had it in my purse for weeks now…just waiting for inspiration, an idea, the right person…whatever.

In my state of being ‘off’, I was cutting off my inspiration too and it just didn’t feel good.

Well…I spent the first few weeks after the holidays working on myself and I’m feeling more aligned and more myself again. As such I now have a plan for the money and will likely have the opportunity to give it away this weekend and will happily see it flow out of my wallet and back into the universe for more flowing and abundance.

I will post more when it all comes together and apologize for my little hiatus while I was off track and needing to get back on.

    Love and abundance to all.

Awwww, LoveJoy, I’m so sorry to hear about your funk. Please don’t worry one bit about feeling off — actually, if you haven’t already, go read Serena’s post today, plus my response. Both were written before you posted here, but now I’m wondering how many of us Elves are feeling like we’re in (or just coming out of) a hibernation cycle? I’ll bet it’s lots of us.

Be gentle with yourself. Take all the time you need. There is absolutely no rush and no pressure. I am glad you’re feeling re-aligned again, and so glad that it sounds like you’re really taking care of yourself. I’m sending you lots of wishes for continuing on the path to feeling reconnected, grounded, inspired, and of course, hugely abundant!

She called today to tell me she has a contract in hand for ALL THREE!!!!!! It is truly amazing!!!!

Thanks so much. I’m enjoying this whole idea so much – what fun!! I got my cards in the mail, but didn’t do anything with them. I felt frozen in a way. Nothing was “big enough” or “good enough” or “magic enough” or “secretive enough.” I didn’t do anything at first because I didn’t want to do it wrong. (As if that were possible!)
And then finally something clicked, and I left my first gift/card. It felt amazing!!!! And boy, did that open the flood gates. Now I’m learning a card every few days – some days 2 or three. My favorite is just a simple card with a shiny gold dollar coin. (I read about leaving just a simple dollar on one of the other elves’ posts) The little kind in me likes the glitter of that shiny gold, and the novelty of the coin. I don’t have to knock myself out with crafting the perfect giving scheme. I just need to leave enough to brighten someone’s day. I get it now!! :-D
    Off to elf!

    Little yet very uplifting elfing!

I’ve been out and about and giving little gifts as I go. Little bags of sweets; money for a coffee; uplifting notes on random cars… Just having fun with the concept! (I need to plan better though cause I tend to forget my AbM cards at home :-/ )

I’m trying to find a way to elf my daughter without her knowing that it’s me… She is in a funk and need some encouragement. I’ve thought of having a bottle of the Abundance Blend sent to her but it would be obvious it was from me since I’m the only one she knows who use that kind of thing.

I’m going in the city again this week… will get a few little things in my purse to give as I go. :-) (and putting AbM cards in right now so I won’t forget them)

It feels good to share the magic!

oohh my How fun is this?? Since last week I’ve been giving some thought to different ways that I could be encouraging to others! Yesterday my ABM cards came in the mail and that inspired me to go to a little shop close to my home. I found some little tokens of encouragment and inspiration … I picked out one of each kind and then found some sweet little organza pouches to put them in. The lady working in there was putting out new stock and we had exchanged pleasantries when I first entered the store. As she was ringing up my purchase I put one of the little tokens into a bag and pulled the string. When she finished I asked her to please give her next customer the little bag. Well!!! You would have thought I’d just given her a bag of money! She was so thrilled to pass that little token on! Her whole demeanor changed… (and it wasn’t bad before but!) WoW! She was really beaming as I walked out the door! I can’t wait to give out the other 5! And to see what else my spirit leads me to do! I’ll keep you updated!

Today my daughter and I went to Trader Joe’s. We decided to pick an arrangement (they have really nice flowers) and have the cashier give it to someone. So as we checked out the cashier (Kelly) commented on how beautiful the flowers were. So I told her they weren’t for us and would she mind giving to the next person, or to who ever she wanted to. She was like “REALLY, OMG” :) She said “That’s so cool, I’m going to be thinking about this all day!”

I didn’t have cards on me and I don’t know who they went to but I have to say I love this type of giving because it touches so many people – me, my daughter, Kelly and who ever she gave the flowers too. No doubt they will tell at least one person about it and I just think that is the coolest thing. All for $6 :) I do wish I had my cards with me. I hope I’m not out. I need to get more in my wallet.

You know what I am going to do with my $50? I’m going to divide it into 5 so for you that would be $10 x 5.

I’m going to take 5 pretty envelopes and in each one put $10 with a hand written note telling the recipient that they are special and loved or whatever I feel guided to write at the time.

And then I’m going to carry the envelopes in my handbag and randomly hand them out to anyone I feel guided to give them to.

Just a quick note to all Elves: I realized in a panic last week that for some reason, Elf posts were being e-mailed to the subscriber list as being from YOUR private e-mail addresses instead of from ABM. I fixed it now so that everything posted by anyone should now come across in the e-mail notices as being from “abundancebymagic@mindspring.com” and will go back to being 100% anonymous.

Also, I had a big snafu in the subscriber list on Friday: It actually disappeared briefly. ACK! I think I got most of it back, but it seems to have dropped some people. If any of you has stopped receiving e-mail notices, you’ll want to go ahead and resubscribe yourselves.

I’ve tried to post this twice on my page but it never would show up so I guess I will share here! I’m afraid if I don’t post soon after I’ve been out elfing I will forget what I did!

I’m not going to question who I’m led to give to and when… I just get that nudge and do it before I think about it too hard! (does anyone feel this way??)
I’d almost forgot but a few weeks ago I felt the need to leave one of my little pocket charm bags w/ a cashier as I was checking out telling her to please pass it along to the next female customer that came through. She looked thrilled and eagerly agreed to pass it along!  The charm I chose said “reach for the stars” and I could just imagine it going to some young gal in college or high school, you know, on the brink of adulthood – with a passion to share her enthusiasm with the world!  As I was getting in my car an older lady … a much older lady who could barely walk – she was using a walker and receiving assistance from an older man …most likely her husband was making her way in.  I have to admit I was a little bit dissapointed thinking she would be the recipient.  She just wasn’t exactly who I had in mind.  Does that make me a bad angel elf?  Oh I hope not!  I am hoping that she could use that encouragement in some small way… I just cannot second guess this!

A few weeks ago when I received my Elf Tuesday $ I also had an unexpected   check for the very same amount!!  I decided I needed to find ways to gift all of it! Anyway, last week I went back to my little store and bought more pocket charms! This time a different lady was behind the counter… and as I made my purchase I gave her an envelope with some of the money and a card and asked her to please give it to her next customer.  She just beamed and seemed excited to participate. This is such a sweet little shop .. a place that you would dash into to purchase a gift or card for someone special.  Anyway, I’m hoping that extra $ gives someone some affirmation.

Ok last story … I promise!  I absolutely adore flowers and after reading some of my fellow elves great stories of sharing them.. I just knew I had to follow suit!  After arriving at the grocery store I found myself picking out 2 bouquets and then studying the gift cards.  The flowers had already spoken to me – which is why I picked two!  As I stood looking at the gift cards … not a word so I moved on.  Made my selections and stood in line of a teller who was not particularly happy to be there.  I decided then and there she should receive one bunch!  She did not really light up but I know ABM warns that not everyone will have a ‘thrilled’ response so I didn’t take it to heart…. but hoping it helped to make her day a little better.  As I was walking out an older couple pushed their buggy by me.  I knew right away that they would be “the other ones” … I also found another envelope w/ some of the $ in it and tucked it into the flowers.  I followed them out and when they popped their trunk I was right behind them.  She turned around startled as I held out the bouquet!  I clumsily said “here – these are for you” with a great big smile!  As she took them from me her eyes lit up.
Well.. that’s all the stories from my neck of the woods!  Still have some $$ and charms left so more will follow.  Happy elfing!
    oxo

I love your stories!! I’m really excited to have won the elf money this week. I’m was hoping you could point me in the direction of finding some pocket charms. I’d like to use some of the money to get a stash of those ready to hand out.

A fellow Elf and I did the flower thing again this weekend. It was her first time :) It was exhilarating! She picked out her person and they actually left too quickly but she tracked her down in the parking lot. I think it startled her but I think it also made her day. She didn’t say much to my friend but I saw them driving out and she was holding the flowers and talking animatedly to her husband.

I gave mine to the cashier. She rang me up and then ran off, reappearing with some candy for me! It was very sweet. Then she handed the flowers to the a young woman and her father saying “these are from her”. Not *exactly* my anonymous plan – LOL! but they were very sweet and seemed really happy with the flowers.

I can’t wait to see what I’m moved to do with the money! Thanks ABM!!!

Hi Willow… I hope I can offer a little bit of inspiration. This is such a wonderful way to connect to people… mostly strangers but isn’t it exhilarating? I really enjoy the flowers… but maybe because I just love getting them so much. Well, actually when the weather breaks and we’re in spring/summer/autumn mode… I just love cutting them from the garden!

I just go into one of those little gift shops to get my pocket charms. I’ve looked in a couple of the bigger stores like Target and really couldn’t find what I wanted. Last night I entered pocket charms into google but would have to order them in bulk to get a better price and they would all say the same thing. I kinda like having a little variety so will probably just keep visiting my little store every few weeks or so.

Have fun with your elf money! Can’t wait to see what your led to do!
